I had a home birth with my last child (of four) and it was great. I highly recommend it to anyone in a low risk situation.

Yay! to all the above comments: My baby will be a Sept baby too....already anticipating problems scheduling birthday parties (lol) Our infant mortality rate is criminal. My friend gave birth in Tokyo and went drug free -- not b/c she didn't WANT drugs, but because the anethisiologist only works from 9-5 in Tokyo hospitals!! It always makes sense to prepare for a natural labor.

This list is missing a few things like that we're 35th in infant mortality among industrialized nations. That our csection rate is 6 times what the WHO reccomends. And that our maternity care system is fundamentally broken.
