Leif Bristow says:
"It becomes problematic when parents are allowing 7-, 8-, and 9-year-olds to take their role models from Degrassi, Gossip Girl, and 90210, and when kids are watching programming that is targeted toward pre-teens or teens. We have to identify the messaging that we believe is appropriate for this age group. A lot of the tween female-oriented programming, sadly, is turning those girls into more sexual role models than they are positive role models. Having had daughters, I’ve been concerned that there isn’t adequate strong female role models for young women in television. So all of my content has powerful, positive women characters."
