Real Mom Gift Guide: All Giggle's Ali Wing Wants For the Holidays Is . . .

Dec 12 2012 - 12:42pm

Ali Wing is known for her editing prowess. No, she's not the editor of a high-end magazine but the founder of Giggle [1], the baby emporium that is redefining the way parents create happy and healthy nurseries for their tots. A former securities lawyer, Ali noticed that this generation of parents were older and more educated than ever before and in need of a store that would cater to their needs. So she created Giggle, a high-end baby store of carefully curated baby gear that meets the store's rigid Giggle criteria [2].

The NYC-based mother puts most of her energy into her business and her family, but when pressed for what she might actually like for herself this holiday season, she was able to muster up a few things. Keep reading to see what's on Ali's list!

A New Kitchen?

"Can I put a new house on the list?" After months of renovations, Ali just completed the first of two stages of renovating her new home in a landmarked building in NYC's Chelsea neighborhood. Her family moved in, and then Hurricane Sandy hit and destroyed the home. So what's really on Ali's wish list? "I am wishing for a kitchen under my tree."

A Black "Puffer" Coat

"A New York woman's essential, my black Winter 'puffer' coat has lost most of its puff. It's time for a new one. My favorites are at Patagonia or North Face; love them both!"

Something Handmade From Her Son

"Last year he made me a great CD with my music favorites. I love those surprise creations! [Artists] Tyler featured last year [included]: Adele, Maroon 5, James Blunt, and an old favorite he has rediscovered with me, Sergeant Pepper."

Women Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana

"I have an adorably committed husband. And he's as consistent as he is committed, preferring the little routines in our lives over anything fancy. Years ago, he bought me Women Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana [4], and we both loved it. I can count on my husband to refill my supplies every year, and I love that!"

Lisa B Socks

"Something about Christmas/holidays/Winter always makes me think of fuzzy socks. My personal favorites are Lisa B socks [5]. They always make my stocking stuffer wish list."
