Has Hugging Become the New Handshake For Kids?

Hold Me! Has Hugging Become the New Handshake For Kids?

From the park to playdates and the schoolyard to the sandbox, children exchange an embrace as a sign of affection or friendship. Has your tot bought into the trend?

Hugging is a trend for a 4 year old? I don't think they are acquainted with hand shaking yet. That said, some children love to hug while others do not.

My daughter is a hugger. It baffles me. I've never been much of a hugger, and I tend to be taken aback when she glomps a kid she has just met. But it seems to be okay with the other kids and their parents, so I let it go.
