How to Make a Washcloth Cupcake

Serve Up a Sugar-Free Washcloth Cupcake

Selecting an elegant and impressive baby shower gift or baby gift is always tricky, particularly if you aren't incredibly close with the family but want to pay homage to their newest member. A diaper cake, while one of the sweetest, most practical gifts of all, looks decadent. Cut down on the super-sized present by gifting a more petite delight: A mini washcloth cupcake. It's useful (no washcloth goes unused, let me tell you), but a fraction of the cost and doesn't look like you are trying too hard.

Make your own using one or two washcloths rolled into a cinnamon roll-like shape, decorative topper, and a cute cupcake bottom, either fashioned of fabric or a plastic wrapper designed for a real cupcake like the one above. If you're not the DYI type, there's more than a baker's dozen available from crafty sellers on Etsy —  like these colorful washcloth flower cupcakes ($7). Shop some of my favorites below.
