Hundreds of Strangers Help Infertile Couple Become Parents

Hundreds of Strangers Help Infertile Couple Become Parents

Landon Haley, who was born earlier this month in Melbourne, FL, came into the world in an extraordinary way: through a combination of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and the kindness of hundreds of strangers!

After receiving the heartbreaking news that they had a 1% chance of ever conceiving naturally, Sean and Jessica Haley turned to IVF. But the Haleys couldn't afford the treatments, which are very expensive. So they started an online fundraising page at IndieGoGo.com...and were blown away by all the people, many of them total strangers, who stepped up to help them become parents. The Haleys raised over $8,000 — which was more than they needed to pay for the IVF.

Speaking about her new baby, Jessica Haley told a reporter that, "He's here because of hundreds of people that believed in us and wanted us to become parents. Our dream came true. We have a baby, one that comes with an amazing story that we hope and pray inspires others who are facing infertility issues too."
