Jeff Goldblum's Toddler Mimics Everything He Says, Including the Hysterical Saying "Asses and Elbows"

Jeff Goldblum, the 65-year-old Hollywood hunk who recently said he feels "right on schedule" when it comes to being a dad to two young boys, just made the case for fans having a huge crush on him even more validated with his recent comments about his toddler. As it turns out, Jeff is raising little mini mes, especially when it comes to 2-year-old Charlie Ocean, who apparently copies everything his dad says.

"He says a couple of things that I say. My dad — and this is probably a regionalism — used to say 'asses and elbows,'" Jeff said in an interview on The Graham Norton Show (with his Jurassic World costars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard), explaining that his dad would use the phrase while the family was in the kitchen washing pots and pans. If Jeff wasn't exactly putting his all into the scrubbing, his dad would say, "Come on, really get in there, asses and elbows, asses and elbows."

At this point in the interview, Jeff pretends to be washing a pot and does a little shimmy shake (that may or may not have made my heart flutter), to show what his dad expected when he used the hilarious phrase. Now that Jeff is a dad himself, he's found a need to use asses and elbows with Charlie, as it seems the toddler doesn't always put enough effort into brushing his teeth.

"I'm often in charge of seeing him brush his teeth, and teaching him — it takes a while," he said. "I go, 'Come on, asses and elbows,'" and he says it. It's fun to hear him say 'asses and elbows.'"

However, this isn't the only phrase Charlie's picked up from his dad. Charlie uttered another Jeff-ism recently, while indulging in a pancake breakfast. "The other day, I heard him say — I guess I said it — he said, 'Never in my whole life have I had pancakes this good.'"

Looks like we have to figure out a way to score an invite to the Goldblum house for some pancakes — if they're the best Charlie's had in his short two-and-a-half years, we need to give them a whirl. And if we're successful, we'll definitely offer to do the dishes afterwards (just to hear Jeff tell us to use our asses and elbows, of course).
