When my mom was pregnant with me, she craved nothing but olives, just as her own mother did when she was pregnant with my mom; so I've always found pregnancy cravings completely fascinating. Will the olives thing be passed down to me when I'm pregnant? I do love me an olive (as did this pregnant woman, who made her husband go out at 3 a.m. to find her some). However, fascination doesn't even begin to cover how I felt when I saw what Joanna Gaines has been craving during her pregnancy with baby number five.
"Woke up this morning at 2:30 AM and was craving fruity pebbles, a pimento cheese sandwich, chicken spaghetti, deviled eggs, and ranch dressing. Didn't have any of that so I made myself some cookies," she wrote on Instagram, underneath a photo of delicious-looking homemade chocolate chip cookies. "With all the restaurant's final tastings, the cookbook (yes these cookies are in it!), and this pregnancy — I'm definitely growing at a record rate."
Although I'm trying not to think of what all of those miscellaneous foods might taste like together, I can't help but giggle at the craziness of pregnancy and what it must feel like to have such strong cravings for all of those foods at once. Here's hoping that the cookies did the trick (though I have a strong suspicion that Joanna probably already hit up a grocery store for the rest of those ingredients in preparation for her next unexpected 2:30 a.m. craving)!
