Spider-Man Birthday
Greg Fiore

Spider-Man Birthday

The newest Spider-Man hit the big screen, so get ready for the Spidey party requests by checking out this super party. Peter Parker-obsessed kiddo Hudson wanted a Spider-Man-themed fifth birthday party, but instead of going with the typical superhero bash, his parents contacted Juliet of The Coop to plan a modern take on their child's beloved crime fighter.

To achieve this spectacular birthday party, Juliet stuck with one of her party-planning values: keep it super cool by avoiding branded images on plates and other party decor, but when you need to, utilize them in a modern way. She made this happen by sticking with a graphic red, blue, black, and white color scheme and then adding special details like a giant air-walker Spider-Man balloon hanging upside down from the ceiling. A variety of DIY details also added a unique feel to the bash and included a felt spiderweb runner cut into individual webs to use as placemats, a painted superhero city backdrop, a comic-book table runner, and matching party hats.

Frozen Party

Frozen fever doesn't seem to be slowing down, so throw your little Anna or Elsa the party she's dreaming of. For this lucky little girl's Frozen bash, her mother wanted to create a Winter wonderland. To get into the Frozen spirit, there were icy-blue linens with mirrors and crystal candleholders. Large white tree branches added a minimalist touch and matched the pile of fake snow on the table. A Vintage Race Car Birthday Party

"Once in a while there is a party, with a capital 'P,' where every little piece just falls into place," New York event planner Keren Precel says. "This race car birthday party was one of those." The totally ecofriendly party was divided into four sections: the "pit stop," where the kids got to decorate their own Melissa & Doug race cars; the "race track," where little guests could attach birthday wishes to tiny toy cars; the "gas station" food table; and the "trophy section" favor table. You have to check out every detail of this party to truly appreciate how special it is.

Hamilton Birthday Party

Like many Hamilton fans, 8-year-old Clarke hasn't been able to see the hit Broadway show yet, but that hasn't limited her obsession with all things Alexander Hamilton. For her eighth birthday, her mom, Aisha, threw her one amazing Hamilton-inspired party.

The youngest guests participated in a Hamilton scavenger hunt in a museum connected to a restaurant, sang karaoke, and crafted Revolutionary War hats before heading home with their Hamilton goodie bags. "This play is more than a play. It is empowering, inspiring, and has energized our children to want to learn more about history," Aisha said. "Would it have been easier to do a My Little Pony or princess party? Of course. But this challenge? Totally worth it."

A Too-Too Cute Tutus and Teacups Birthday Party
CN Photography

A Too-Too Cute Tutus and Teacups Birthday Party

"I am a planner by nature and knew the day after my daughter's first birthday that I wanted to do a teacups-and-tutu theme, using soft pinks and oranges for her second," says Johanna Saucier, mom to 2-year-old Presley.

"I incorporated teacups in the cake balls and printables and in real teacups purchased from flea markets and used for floral arrangements," she continues. "I also wanted subtle and sweet touches of tulle, including the pom garland, tutus for each little girl, and tulle wands." But the details don't stop there. From a DIY dress-up closet and shabby-chic doily accents to a framed photo dessert-table backdrop, there are so many ideas we want to steal from this party. Our favorite, though, has to be the tulle-topped ombré cakes that lined the party table. Simply "tutu" chic! Click here to check out all the details of this inspired party.

Sprinkles-Inspired Party
Kojo Designs

Sprinkles-Inspired Party

Two-year-old Piper Jane has a notorious love of sweets, so her mom — Kirstin Gentry of Kojo Designs — wasn't surprised when she requested "sprinkles" as the theme of her birthday party. "Her sweet tooth is renowned in these parts (second only to her mama's), so a sprinkle party is perfectly suited for her second birthday celebration," Kirstin says.

What could have turned into a pretty straightforward party became supercreative in Kirstin's hands. "Sprinkled" accessories, sweet signage, fun and easy activities, and some awesome decor (confetti-filled balloons and yarn pom-pom garlands) are among all the gorgeous details. A Colorful Superhero Party
Anders Ruff

A Colorful Superhero Party

Superhero parties are one of our favorite kid-birthday themes, but what if you want all the super stuff on a less-than-super budget? Leave it to the party divas of Anders Ruff to find the (super) solution.

"The vintage pop-art superhero party that I planned for my son, Pierson, years ago is one of our favorite parties that we styled, and we often get the question of 'I love it, but how much would that cost?!'" says Maureen Anders. "I know it was not a cheap party, so I wanted to design a party that had a similar feel and vibe, but that was full of cost-effective and DIY elements so you can be Super Mom while keeping things within a reasonable budget." The result: Jeffrey's spectacular party full of dressed-up store-bought treats, dollar-store finds, and lots of awesome printables. Click here to check out all the super details! And if you have a superhero-obsessed birthday girl, don't miss this superhero party just for little ladies.

A Fossil Hunter Birthday Bash

"For my little guy's birthday, there was never any question about the theme: fossils!" says Gretchen Brittain, mom of three and the creator of adorable party printables shop Three Little Monkeys. "Zach is obsessed with dinosaurs. Obsessed. But not the cartoon variety. He digs real fossils."

Gretchen used Zach's love of fossils and her own addiction to all things vintage to create one of the coolest little-boy parties ever, styled to feel like an old fossil excavation site with a vintage map backdrop, replica fossils, and old books, trunks, and camping gear. A Little Savvy Event used every kid's favorite outdoor overnight experience as a jumping-off point for this cute camping birthday party. Thrown for little Greyson, this party (from the brains who also came up with this sweet puppy birthday party and this vintage-map baby shower) is superclever, using a tree round as a cake stand, fun paper products and signage, and lots of yummy, camping-inspired eats. Rainbow Birthday Party

Rainbow Birthday Party

Even though Morgan Hutchinson was 37 weeks pregnant at her daughter's birthday party, she didn't let that stop her from planning an epic event to celebrate her firstborn. As the founder of Buru, an online clothing destination for breastfeeding moms, this hardworking mama is used to getting creative, and her little one's backyard bash was no exception.

With a rainbow theme in mind, every detail was executed in bright bursts of color. From the sprinkle cake with different-colored layers to the color-coordinated food and entertainment, no aspect of this celebration was overlooked. The best part of the stylish day was the magical pony complete with a rainbow mane. Check out all of the beautiful photos filled with inspirational details by clicking here.

A Modern Hello Kitty Party

Regardless of whether you're a Hello Kitty fan or not, we're betting you're going to love this birthday party, thrown by wedding and event planner Gloria Wong for her daughter Taylor's second birthday.

Although the famed cat features heavily in this party on top of the cake, on cookies, and through the use of her iconic bows (guests were each given one to wear as a headband or bow tie; can you say "adorable?"), Gloria's stylish take on the theme feels totally modern: think of it as kiddie minimalism. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" Party
6th Street Design School

"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" Party

This "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" birthday bash might just be our ideal party: it looks small and pretty simple to execute, but it has a handful of special details, great style, and a mom who's not afraid to be totally real. "Although the party was a blast, the setup was crazy; I mean, seriously, so many things kept going wrong," said mom, interior designer, and blogger Kirsten Karson.

"I had two hours to get everything ready, which seemed like plenty of time, but I probably should have given myself six hours! The slight breeze kept making the balloons go crazy, and my 'Twinkle Twinkle' sign fell on the table at one point, almost crashing into the cake! I think it was at that point that I turned to my friend Erin and said, 'Let's just bag the whole thing and run away.' Luckily, my friends came to the rescue, and we got everything set up just in the knick of the time for the party to start. We may have had sweat pouring down our faces, but we were at least able to spend a good 30 minutes enjoying the party." And what a cute party it was! Check out all the details, which, we must say, look picture perfect!

Despicable Me Minion Party
Greg Fiore

Despicable Me Minion Party

For actor Donald Faison and CaCee Cobb's son's second birthday bash, Lucinda and Juliet of The Coop let minion madness take over for a neon-yellow-and-denim party that brought nothing but smiles. Googly eyes and overalls filled the modern space, while a graphic blue-and-white-stripe motif popped against lemon and banana details. The highlight of the celebration was Rocco's impressive dessert table, which featured a life-size birthday minion cake as well as irresistible fondant cupcakes. In case anyone still wasn't sure of the theme, 14-inch balloons spelled out "One in a minion" and made for an epic backdrop. Click here and go bananas over the playful details!

Where the Wild Things Are Party

In honor of the birthday boy's favorite book, Where the Wild Things Are, one family had a "Wild One" birthday bash worthy of Max and the gang. For the sophisticated yet age-appropriate day, Lucinda of The Coop wanted to keep everything simple yet chic while incorporating key details from the book. To pull off the beloved storybook theme, she used black silhouettes and fur with pops of gold glitter. Along with lush bouquets, real antlers spotted the faux-fur runner, and each guest was given a cold crown to rock during the wild rumpus! Check out more details here.
