Kindergarten Boy Sexually Assaulted by Classmate

Kindergarten Boy Sexually Assaulted by Classmate

A North Carolina mom was horrified to learn that her son had been raped by another boy in a school bathroom. Both children are five years old and in kindergarten.

Law enforcement officials, a physician, and a psychologist confirmed that Sherri Loika's son was definitely abused by this other child. But to her frustration, the school responded to her son's reluctance to return to school (where his abuser was still in the classroom) by threatening him with truancy.

Due to the other child's age, no one, from school officials to the police, are willing to pursue legal action. "They're trying to throw their hands up, throw it under the rug like it never even happened," says Loika.

Are there ways to protect your child from a classmate who is violent or abusive?
