Lil Tip: Picture It

Choose a time of the year (birthday, Christmas, New Year's, or another day that has some significance to you) and take a picture of your tot in the same spot year after year. Maybe you have a favorite chair or an antique piece of furniture that you know will be around for a lifetime that can serve as your marker.

I put my daughter in front of her rocking giraffe before she could even sit up and took her photo. A year later, I took it of her standing next to her long necked friend. For as long as I can remember to do it, I plan on taking that picture and enjoy watching her grow like a weed.

Do you already do something like this?

My favorite uncle on the day I was born went out at bought me a tree as a gift. I grew up with "my tree" so so sad that day it was stolen. I cried for a week & I was 21yo when it was taken so I had to mourn the lost of "my tree". thnaks now I'm sad just thinking about it. the worst part was the stole it around x-mas.

I was born on Christmas eve and on Christmas day the nurses brought me to my mom in a christmas stocking. She took a picture, put it in a frame ornament, and hung it on the tree. Thus starting the tradition of every year, she takes our picture in front of the Christmas tree and puts it in a frame for the next year. She now has a tree covered with over 100 frame ornaments of me and my brothers. We are all married now but she does it! I plan on doing the same thing when i have children. I love it.

We don't do this every year, but whenever we vacation in Maine as a family (even recently) we get our pictures taken in one particular spot. I love it!

That's a great idea! My grandma had a shelf in her hallway with antique teacups, and I remember the year I couldn't walk under it any more. This reminded me of that!
