Lil Tip: Powdered Formula Dispenser

Toting a can of formula around is a pain, but carrying a plastic baggy full of the white powder can earn you some odd looks. So what is a mother to do?

Thanks to companies like Sassy, for $5, you can purchase a dispenser with four single-serving compartments and a snap lid that keeps the contents fresh and secure until you are ready to prepare baby's bottle.

Love these things. You can pick them up at Target. I used it all the time for formula, and now I use it all the time for Fruity Cheerios!!

They are also great for snacks when your done with the formula. Gold fish crackers, cheerios,etc.. fit very nicely and are easy for their little fingers to get to.

I imagine that keeps them fresher as well, if you're talking storage rather than being able to use it the same day. I think I'll start doing both. *lol*

I actually have never paid attention, but I am sure it is more expensive. We have one box of the packets at the grandparents' house, in case we run out of bottles while we're over there, and I have a couple in my purse for emergencies. We also use them for long trips or hikes when we know a prepared bottle isn't going to last to the end of the day. So, we don't use them so frequently that the cost is really an issue.

MotoLinz, are those more expensive than getting a can of formula and setting aside 4 ounce servings? I've often considered putting a box of those in a shower basket as well.

I use Similac's little formula packets. One packet makes a 4-oz. bottle, and they're a life saver!

I've never used formula, but any friends/coworkers who are expecting and plan to formula-feed, I get this for. It's always gotten rave reviews.
