Lil Tip: Sing Your Children to Sleep

When it comes to my singing, I've got a couple of fans. My son and daughter don't mind that my vocals are off tune, in fact, my tunes help them sleep. If your tot has trouble transitioning from bathtub to bedtime, try breaking out in song. Turn this into a fun activity by having them help you with the lyrics. Once you perfect the tune specific to the child, sing or hum it to soothe them.

Same for me too roxtachic...I used to sing to the belly and we've been singing him to sleep since he was tiny and colicy. But lately we've noticed he sings to himself too. I have to restrain myself from giggling so I don't wake him because he'll do when I'm rocking him. It's so cute. :)

i've been singing to him since before he was born... hehe. i dont just do it before bed... we've noticed that now he sings himself back to sleep if he wakes up durin the night (sometimes he'll cry & we now he wants his bottle) but it's HYSTERICAL to hear him.

We sit and rock and sing every night. Even if it doesn't put her to sleep it at least calms her down and lets her know that sleep is just around the corner.

Yes, I love to sing to my daughter and she says 'again!' at the end. It's a good way of helping her get into sleepy mode.

My mum tortured me growing up with her horrific singing-torture! So I play cds for my darlings and they cant make fun of me later right? ;)

I think my husband and I have both sung Twinkle Twinkle Little Star thousands of times. It still works like a champ.

My children all loved/love being sung to as well. The only thing is, it soothed them but never put them to sleep. They wanted to stay awake to listen. *lol* I use it to stop my daughter from crying, but her eyes pop wide open so she can hear the whole song.
