This Lineup of Shoes Down the "Aisle" Might Be the Sweetest Wedding Tradition You've Never Heard Of

Weddings are filled with countless traditions — so many that it's hard to believe there's one we haven't yet heard about. But Joanne LaRocque Radziewicz just shared the sweetest nuptial surprise for her son Peter on his wedding day, and we can safely say we wish we thought of something so personal and thoughtful.

"I saved these shoes — at least one pair a year through high school — with the idea that one day I'd set them out down the aisle on your wedding day, leading you to your new wedding shoes," she wrote alongside a video showing the lineup of shoes, from teeny baby ones to big-boy sneakers all the way to a crisp new pair of gray Converse high-tops.

Because the wedding venue is "a little less traditional," she set them up in the hallway leading to his childhood bedroom as an alternative.

"From (long before) the very first unsteady baby steps you took, all the way to today, I've been so lucky to walk beside you as you grew and to hold your hand when you needed me . . . to be your mom," she wrote in a note to Peter. "But, today, I entrust you to someone else."

Her message to the happy couple was also sweetly symbolic of this shoe tradition: "May you always walk together in love, happiness, forgiveness (when needed), and joy!"

So, parents everywhere: start saving all those kid shoes now!
