Malia Obama Makes an Age-Appropriate Statement in TEASE

Will Malia do for TEASE what her mama did for Maria Pinto? The 10-year-old daughter of down-to-earth fashionista Michelle Obama has been making a statement of her own in handmade tees and tanks. Malia was seen sporting the trendy and age-appropriate blue tie-dye tank ($51), pink tie-dye peace shirt ($51) and tie-dye smiley face blue tee ($51) while on holiday in Hawaii. As the oldest Obama daughter, Malia is setting a stylish example for her younger sis, Sasha, and other American tweens. We can't wait to see what the young ladies wear to their daddy's inauguration.

Just because the t-shirts might cost $51, that doesn't mean that is what they paid for them. There are always sales, and discount stores, amazon sales, etc. People are so quick to judge! Jeesh!

Thank you to all of you who wrote what I was thinking as soon as I saw the price tag on these shirts I don't care whether it's "age-appropriate" or not i don't think it sends a great message to spend $51 on a 10 year old especially in poor economic times, it actually saddens me a little because they came off as a little more down to earth then this

I agree with Athena. Do you remember when Chelsea Clinton was in the White House as a young teen and always dressed like a 40-year-old woman in public? Other than the apparant cost, I really appreciate how the Obamas dress their children. Even on election night they looked young and comfortable;.

Setting the price of the shirt aside, I am so glad to see her dressing like a kid! I hope that parents and their kids will look at her styles and see that it's possible to look fun and pretty and age-appropriate. Those specific clothes are expensive, but I'm sure a parent could find similar clothes at a good price.

Well Malia is 10 years-old she isn't in daycare and I don't see her making her own shirt and she's older I'm sure she can take care of her clothes. I buy Harajuku bags that on the site are 50 bucks but if you got to Ross or TJ Maxx there 20 dollars. No biggie, you can go to different places and get the same shirt for much less.

51 dollars is excessive and ridiculous.

Anything over $15 is not allowed. It gets ruined with paint anyway. Why pay $51 for something your kid could make for free at day care.

Hmm, I never heard of Tease before. $51 is a lot but the Obamas are pretty serious when it comes to hand me downs. I'm sure Malia will wear that shirt then Sasha then their cousin.

$51 seems excessive for a t-shirt for a 10 year old. They're cute shirts, but not worth that much money. Especially when it probably costs the manufacturer no more than $10 to make them.
