Because Megan Fox is a celebrity, she probably knew she'd get a reaction when she posted a rare glimpse of her three children on Instagram [2] on July 31. But she found out how brutal the internet can be [3] when commenters took aim at the image of her son, who happened to be wearing an Elsa dress. Thankfully her husband Brian Austin Green had her back in a recent interview with Hollywood Pipeline [4].

"My son, he's 4. I've heard from some people that they don't agree. They don't agree with him wearing dresses," said Green. "To them I say, 'I don't care.' He's 4 and if he wants to wear it, then he wears it. It's dresses or goggles or slippers — whatever. It's his life. They're not my clothes."

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star also said that people really need to just let kids be kids.

""I feel like at 4, at 5, that's the time he should be having fun. He's not harming anyone wearing a dress," explained Green. "So, if he wants to, awesome. Good on him."

While many people didn't bat an eye at the post at the time, some of her followers took the opportunity to troll the absolute sh*t out of her over it.

"Why would you let your SON buy a dress?" asked one person. "Wouldn't you encourage them to go for the . . . idk . . . Ninja Turtles outfit? Kids grow up based on their parents' decisions for them, if your boy wants to buy a dress it would only make sense to tel them no that's for girls simply because . . . Get a life this is not 'social conformity' this is men are born with penises and women are born with vaginas."

Another mom decided to put her two cents in saying that it's confusing. "Don't let your son wear Cinderella dresses. It's highly confusing for the kid. Honestly thought he was a girl. This society is so lost."

Others offered support to the actress, saying that it's really not a big deal.

"Lots of boys wear dresses from time to time especially if they have sisters," wrote one person. "If you flip on them and say it's wrong it says more about your insecurities. It's only a dress, it's not like he's in a KKK hood. People are so weird getting upset about this."

Some users said they're in the same position as Megan themselves. "My little boy for ages played with dolls and My Little Ponies. Wow, get over it, those that are negative about little boys wearing dresses. It's just a dress and let kids be kids & play. You have gorgeous kids and are an awesome mum to let them express themselves freely."
