Do your kids draw outside with chalk? Susan Mortensen, a mom in Virginia, has been convicted of vandalism because she let her 4-year-old daughter use chalk on rocks. Mortensen will need to complete fifty hours of community service or she will be fined $2500.

There was a similar chalk controversy in June when a Colorado neighborhood tried to ban children from drawing on sidewalks with chalk, and many people are upset that chalk is being considered graffiti. But officers say that Mortensen's daughter's chalk drawings weren't this mom's only offenses. When she was ticketed, "she responded with an attitude and curse words," said the officer involved. She had also been convicted for painting on rocks two years ago.

To find out what Mortensen's supporters had to say about the charge, watch the video at the Huffington Post.
