Baby Bump: Morning Sickness Gift Basket

Your best friend just called to tell you she's pregnant! You kind of already knew, but didn't want to let on that her green sweaty brow gave it away. She's been sick as a dog for a month and there's been no alcohol consumption to blame it on.

Show her the ropes and pick up some of the best morning-sickness remedies around and wrap them up in a gift basket.

And, make sure your friend knows to check with her doctor before trying new remedies.

I tried the first three and none helped me :( I also had food aversion and was eating horribly in the beginning because that's all I could handle. I couldn't even take my vitamin... no matter how many types I tried. I think we just have to deal with it as best we can.

The idea is super cute but don't expect it to be the magic cure all for every mom. I lived on rainbow sherbert & popcorn and "zofran" for my entire 1st pregnancy....

In my first pregnancy, it helped a lot when I ate some candies. My blood sugar was low and that made me feel sick. In my second pregnancy it didn't help though :( Therefor I would kill for ice-cold vanilla coke!!!

A B6 supplement got me through just fine. I have since suggested it to two friends but it only worked for one of them.

Saltines didn't help me either, thatgirljj. They're too dry, they made me feel like I was suffocating. I lost a good amount of weight my first 20 weeks this time, although I'll never know how much since I won't face the scale or let them tell me numbers. The nurse just said it was "substantial." *lol* I've made for it since, and probably not in a good way.

Somehow saltines made me sicker. But I couldn't have made it through without gatorade, seriously it helped me keep things down and stay hydrated.

My diet was awful the first three months. I had bad food aversion and sickness so whenever I felt like eating I did. Now (thank goodness) I actually crave veggies.

The PreggyPops tasted disgusting to me, however I LOVED the Preggy Drops! They were much better flavors and eased my morning sickness. I also agree with Greggie...if it sounds good to you, then eat it. I started my pregnancy with every intention of eating very healthy from the start...but low and behold in weeks 5-9 everything that was healthy made me feel sick and the one thing that made me better was Top Ramon (disgusting to me now...but at the time was a LIFESAVER).

Another thing I always recommend is that if something sounds good, eat it. Your body tells you what it can and can't handle. And if you feel like you can't eat, don't force it.

Preggy Pops saved me!!!

My remedy is Coke and salt and vinegar chips. None of the "recommended" helpers eased anything for me except maybe B6. But few people know to taper off B6 or you get rebound morning sickness. The PreggyPops made things so much worse for me. But ginger ale was definitely a keeper.
