Owl-Themed Nursery

OnSugar Blog: Our Nursery Is Ready!

Lots of moms think out loud, and Hansel and Gretel does too. Our Nursery is Ready! comes from the Hansel and Gretel blog at OnSugar.

We have finally put the finishing touches to our nursery. I wasn't really styling this nursery to a particular theme but somehow my love for owls has slowly crept in. The colors are fairly neutral based on the quilt that I made. As soon as I found out we were expecting (even before I told hubby), I went straight to our local patchwork shop, excited with colors and a basic template in mind. It took me a whole day to put this quilt together with bamboo batting so bubs will be able to breathe and be warm. I figured as it was my first attempt, it's not too bad.

I realize the walls are still bare but I am waiting to meet our bubs, find out their personality and name before I decorate these walls. I initially created these frames with fabric iron on embellishments, glued onto paper, these were going to take place on the wall but when it came time to put them up, we have decided to wait.

Wow, that looks really cool! I'm a big fan of 'grown-up' nurseries. You know, no Winnie Pooh murals ;) And what you did there is just my taste...oh and that quilt looks awesome. I bet he (he, right?) will hold onto that forever!
