Recycling Crayons

Kidoodle: Cookie Cutters for Crayons

At the end of the school year, teachers are left with bins full of broken crayons and a dilemma — to trash or not to trash. Some may recycle them into crayola muffins, but there's another creative way to melt those broken wax sticks into something fun.

Line a cookie sheet with foil. Take whimsical cookie cutters like hearts, butterflies, cars or dogs and fill them with pieces of peeled broken crayons. Pop the tray in the oven at 350 degrees for roughly 10 minutes. When they cool off, you can pop them out and color away with your new multi–colored chunks of color!
