Why You Should Think Twice Before Judging "Big Kids" Trick-or-Treating

Renting Designer Clothes For Kids

Would You Rent Designer Duds For Your Kids?

Buying special occasion clothes for kids is not for the faint of heart. Pair the hefty price tags and fact that they have an extremely limited shelf life (two weddings six months apart could very well warrant two different sizes), and you've got a shopping challenge for even the savviest of consumers. That's where Borrow Mini Couture steps in. If you've heard of or used Rent the Runway, you're already familiar with the concept.

Borrow Mini Couture allows moms to choose a designer ensemble for their kids and borrow it for a two-day rental period at a fraction of its retail cost. Stocking designers like Stella McCartney Kids, Baby CZ, Fendi, and Dior, rentals from the site don't come cheap. But at around $30-$99, your temporary ownership costs a whole lot less than paying full price for what could very well be a one-time wear.

The rentals come 100-percent insured with a prepaid return envelope. So once your event is over, just pop the ensemble in the mail, and you're done. The site's selection includes apparel for 9 months through 4 years, and while it's primarily focused on little girls' party dresses, there are also several suits in the $65-$85 range for your main man.

What do you think? Is this the future of special occasion shopping for babies and kids, or is it just a passing fad? Weigh in below!
