Restaurant Bans Children Ages 6 and Under

Mike Vuick made it pretty clear: his restaurant is not a place for young children. The Monroeville, Pa. restaurant owner sent out an email to his customers this week to make the announcement: "Beginning July 16, 2011, McDain's Restaurant will no longer admit children under six years of age. We feel that McDain's is not a place for young children. Their volume can't be controlled and many, many times, they have disturbed other customers."

While the announcement made some customers happy, it's sparking big controversy among parents.

I think it's wonderful and sad. Good he did it, go for it. I'm so sick of other peoples bratty kids. That's the sad part, that people have kids that are so bratty they cannot go to a restaurant without disturbing people. I bet you anything it's not just a young baby crying, or an unruly toddler who had to be taken outside in order to be calmed. I'm talking about this whole new generation of obnoxious behavior that seems to be the new 'social norm' for kids. It's unnecessary. Get a grib on your kid. I would never let mine disrupt a restaurant - even if it was too young to understand, don't go there. Wait a year or two. Big deal - have respect for others
