Simple or Swank: Doll Strollers

I always think it's funny when a 1-year-old looks at an infant and says, "baby!" like they are all grown up. Tots like to play, gawk, and even push around lil babies. And by pushing around, I mean in a stroller — not the bullying way. So it's no surprise that baby-doll strollers are a popular item in many toy stores.

Like our stroller poll indicates, there are high-end strollers and some lower-end options, too. The same goes for doll buggies, too.

Simple: Babies R Us has a hot-pink, baby-doll stroller with teddy bears, dragonflies, and butterflies at the very economical price of $8.
Swank: Pottery Barn Kids has a higher-end option that has the big rubber grooved wheels, a canopy, and a basket underneath the seat. All of the amenities will cost you though — this buggy is priced at $59.

if your child is big on dollies, then it's worth it. plus, they climb in it, sit in it . . .etc.

I think the cheaper version suits its purpose just fine.

I've had both. the more expensive did last so much longer. we had many cheap ones. so if they got rough with them it was no big deal. they were still cute.

My daughter has had her "simple" one for over a year - hers is the Target version. Had I realized then how much time I would spend fitting the little fabric seat back on to the metal bars for her, I might have sprung for the "swank" version. Plus, the fabric is ripping in some areas (mostly because she, her brother and their friends like to sit it in :irk:).

I bought my not-quite-2-year-old a 25 piece doll set from It was really affordable but I haven't opened the box yet to see how much work is involved in putting together the highchair, stroller, bouncer, crib, etc. :)

This is what I'm talking about! ;) The TRU stroller is very well-made, too. Ours is a year old and my son's taken it everywhere, and it still looks brand new. Plus they offer a nice range of fabrics, so we were able to get one for a boy without having to put up with the "why does he have a pink stroller??" issue. One I absolutely do not recommend - the Build a Bear stroller. Get another brand and just put your bear in that.
