Tell Mommy: Is It Fair to Use Children in Adult Ads?

Child actors are used to sell everything from online banking to birth control. Some recent anti-smoking ads are the latest to spark debate as they feature distressed children to get their point across. Do you think it's appropriate for tots to be used in commercials and print ads that target adults?

they're actors. what's the problem? people need to get worked up about things that actually matter, not a stupid commercial.

This is a horrible commercial. I got lost in China town for about 5 minutes when i was just a little older than this kid and at 21 years old it still gives me chills thinking about how scared i was. This kid is not acting. thats real fear. The people who made this should go to hell

I think it helps put a new face on the problem at hand. Studies have shown that more people quit smoking for their kids than for any other reason, so I could see this being very effective.

no....i do not think they are going to far. I've seen a lot of people smoking around their kids and while in their cars with their children. I've even seen a pregnant woman smoking!! It makes me upset when i see that....we all know the risks why do that to your kids, then?!
