Don't be angry on your kid: just be patient and... count untill 3 or 5 or 10, so he/she gets the time to make the things done, and you - time to calm down, and be more patient instead to become furious :) Besides, you and your kid should get an agreement on how many numbers should be counted untill the things have to be done. And when everything is in order, prais your child: compliment, hug or kiss him/her.

Giving kids chores not only helps the parents out, it helps those kids learn skills they'll need as adults. When I was a teen I thought she was just blowing smoke. But after I left home, I realized she was right--and realized she was right in a big way when "household maintenance classes/clubs" became all the rage for young adults who didn't know how to wash or iron their own clothes, shop savvy or cook.
