Tricks My Mama Taught Me: Telephone Book

Some tots like to sit on regular chairs, but aren't tall enough to see over the table or eat with ease.

For these occasions, my grandma came up with a simple solution. To see her clever idea,

.

Take a firm telephone book and cover it with a bath towel. The thick phone directory provides the right amount of height for most lil ones and the terry towel adds an element of cushion and prevents small kids from slipping off during dinner.

This trick is a lifesaver when you forget your child's booster seat.

i did this just the other night with my 10 month old niece ... perfect height to sit at the table and she was able to be a 'big girl' and have her own chair. MUCH easier than balancing them on your knee or letting them run around the kitchen while you eat.
