Video: Bethenny Frankel Sets Limits With Baby's Grandparents

Bethenny Frankel Sets Boundaries With the Grandparents; Have You?

When is enough, enough? On the season premiere of Bethenny Ever After, the reality star spends a weekend trying to establish boundaries with her in-laws. The new grandparents, who live two hours away from baby Brynn's New York City home, express their desire to see their granddaughter every week, as well as holidays and special occasions. After several discussions on the matter, Bethenny, in her trademark way, reminds them that there are some things the family must celebrate and experience on their own. There's no denying the joy that babies bring to grandparents' lives, but some parents find that enthusiasm suffocating. Have you had to set limits with your tot's grandparents?

We've unofficially set boundaries. My parents live across the country (visit every 1-2 months) and my in-laws are 35 miles away. It's been important for us to kindly indicate that we want to establish some of our own traditions for our new little family. Just a reminder to both sets of our parents that we love seeing them, but we're occasionally going to be doing some holiday stuff on our own.

That's why I keep an ocean in between my inlaws. Of course we miss having some help near by but I can hardly deal with them the 3 times a year we see each other. Skype is the way to go!
