John Stamos announced on April 16 that him and his wife Caitlin Hugh had welcomed their first child together [3], and the name they decided to give their baby boy will tug at your heart strings. The Full House star revealed on Instagram his son's name is Billy, after his late father.
"From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son," he wrote. "Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father) #NotJustanUncleAnymore #Overjoyed."
A few months before he welcomed his son, John posted a throwback photo [4] of himself as a toddler and wrote a bit about how he would try to emulate his dad when he became a father. "I will certainly fall short of the father my pop was, but — I'm going to give it my all! #Balance #BillStamos #Hero."

In an interview in a December 2017 issue of People, John opened up about his parents not being able to meet their grandchild, as John's dad died in 1989 [7] and his mother, Loretta, passed away in 2014 [8]. "It kills me that my parents aren't here to be part of this, but I know it probably wouldn't be happening if they weren't up there, [9]" he said. "You know how you put your father on a pedestal, and he's a superhero, and then as you grow older, you go, 'Ah, he's just a man'? I never got to that point. Till the day he died, he was bigger than life to me."
