We bought them at the supermarket a few weeks ago, and just got around to going to a patch today for photos, hayrides, etc.

lickety, no everyone has easy access to a patch. As far as I know, there is not one near us, so I buy ours at the local grocery store. When I was in MI, there were more of them, I think, but here I just don't see them around. Maybe I'm just out of the loop. When my son is older, I'll look into it more, but it wouldn't get much out of it right now anyhow.

We have the best little mom & pop farm just down the road from us and you can feed goats, cows, pigs and chickens. They also have hay rides where you can get off at certain stops and the kids can pick their own little gords and little pumpkins. We get to spend a wonderful afternoon there and all we spend money on is the pumpkins, apples and any food we decide to eat.

We have a U-pick farm about 20 minutes away, they have this neat thing where you can take pictures of your kids, it's like a growth chart on a pumpkin and says "how tall am I this fall?" We take one every year with our boys and now will add our little neice who just turned 1. It's such a cool place to go. And the pumpkins are super cheap as well.

Not everyone lives near a farm pumpkin patch, and a lot of little towns don't even have the private sellers outside places selling them. We've lived in a TON of really out of the way areas and the supermarket was the only place to pick them up. This year we will go to an actual farm since we live near lots of them. I can't wait.

Why would you buy these at the super market? Just curious.

We started going last year and had alot of fun. They had pony rides, corn maze, hay bale slides, petting zoo, and lots of food. Really a great time with the family.
