I agree with you - this is a pretty inane list. I have read Anna Karenina and I'm not a huge fan; I've read much better. If I told my daughter to get stuck in a foreign country with very little money, my family would think I was a lunatic. Who tells their child something foolish like that? I thought this list of the 10 chosen out of 101 would have been much more sensible but I consider the source...

There is few things I'd put on the list of 101.
102. Just because it 'feels right' doesn't mean it is, use your head to decide if it is right or wrong.
103. It is okay to ask stupid questions. I'd rather you asked a thousand stupid questions, than didn't ask my advice and did something stupid.
104. If someone advises you that you need medication to be normal and healthy (including birth control) question that advice. Medication is only if something is wrong.
105. It is okay not to like something, but sometimes you must still do it.
106. It is okay to masturbate, it is a gift from God. Enjoy your body.

I think that's a fairly stupid list. Why would you want your daughter stuck in a foreign country without any money? Anna Karenina? I've never read it. As long as they read, I'm not that picky about what it is, as long as it's worthwhile literature. Basically I agree with the rest, but I don't think they're the most important things to tell you daughter. I wish My mother had told me that I was pretty and that she loved me. Oh, and the one about the men.
