This Colorful Kids' Playroom Might Be Too Cute to Handle

It's no wonder why this playroom has everything: the creative genius behind the colorful and chic details also happens to be the cofounder of Project Nursery!

When Melisa Fluhr moved into her new home two years ago, she ran into the challenge of turning her sunroom into an escape for all three of her children (with a span of eight years between her youngest and oldest). By combining whimsical and boho-inspired elements, Fluhr expertly struck the balance of creating a fabulous environment that appeals to all ages.

When getting started, Fluhr opted to start with a light color palette and her children's art as a focal point. "Toys tend to be crazy colorful, so I recommend going with an extremely pale shade of your favorite color," said Fluhr.

Fluhr pulled off her sophisticated tot space by selecting trendier accents that still worked for her younger children. "This metallic gold tepee is not only on trend, it's basically where my middle child lives, all cozied up among the pillows with his incredibly active imagination," said Fluhr. "All of our baby toys are stored in chic, colorful ombré rattan baskets for easy access."

A bonus in this kid-dominated space? A place for mom! "In keeping with the spirit of creativity, I carved out a small space of the playroom for myself so that I can work on my own projects alongside the kids," said Fluhr. "The butcher block top and upper drawers are dedicated to my small sewing projects and gift wrapping."
