How Tommy Hilfiger's New Line For Children With Disabilities Will Change Lives

Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger is now designing stylish clothing that all kiddos can enjoy — even those with disabilities.

In the first clothing line of its kind, the American fashion brand has partnered with Runway of Dreams to create an adaptive designer clothing collection for children. Not only is this capsule line priced similarly to Tommy Hilfiger's current children's collection ($19 to $43), but it has also modified similar styles to make the separates much easier for children to wear.

Instead of the traditional buttons, zippers, and hook-and-eyes, the adorable looks have replaced these elements — which made them impractical for children with special needs to wear — with MagnaReady closures. In addition to these washable magnets, the tops, bottoms, and dresses all are designed with alternate ways to get in and out of the clothing. The sleeves, pant lengths, and waistbands are also fully adjustable — which is ideal for children who have a length difference between limbs or low muscle tone!
