Woman Surprises Husband With "Reveal" Photo Shoot, but It's Not What You're Thinking

At first glance, many people would agree that it looks like 25-year-old Joy Stone, pictured above, is about to announce a baby's sex, considering she's standing in front of a box full of balloons that reads, "It's a . . . " However, Joy isn't pregnant. But she did decide to participate in a "reveal" photo shoot as a surprise for her husband, Brady, seeing as the couple had been looking to add to their family for quite some time . . . with a puppy!

Joy and her photographer friend, Carlye Allen (who actually connected Joy to her new furry baby through a mutual friend), worked together to create the shoot, and the rest is adorable, fluffy history.

"Brady and Joy had been searching for a new furry family member for months. They visited animal shelters on multiple occasions but had a hard time finding the perfect match," Carlye told POPSUGAR. "One of my Facebook friends, Gracie Gonzalez, posted a picture of five little puppies next to a railroad track . . . I forwarded the puppy picture to my friend Joy, and it was love at first sight. She knew in her gut that the puppy pictured was the perfect addition to her little family. She decided to keep it a surprise from her husband, and we spent about a week in constant communication with Gracie to pull the surprise off."

Carlye drove to get the puppy, named Rey after the Star Wars character, at Gracie's house, and waited for Joy to meet up with her. "When she arrived, she was speechless. Finally, whenever she was able to talk, she managed to say, 'I've never seen anything so cute in my whole life.'"

It was then that the idea for a photo shoot featuring Rey was born. "The day prior to Joy's arrival, I was in charge of decorating for a wedding shower. I happened to have a tank of helium and extra balloons in the back of my car," Carlye said. "I somewhat jokingly threw out the idea of setting up a puppy reveal photo shoot, and Joy went along with it. Next thing I know, we're in my front yard trying to convince a little puppy to stay in a metal tub. Shortly after the puppy photo shoot, Joy drove home to her husband. When he heard her drive up, he opened her car door to greet her and instead was greeted by a four-pound ball of fluff in a puppy booster seat. He was ecstatic."

Although these photos of Rey and Joy are going viral simply for being completely adorable, Carlye hopes to make a larger impact with her photos.

"We're so happy to have been able to spread a little joy throughout millions of people's lives over the past few days. We hope to spread that joy a little farther in the days to come," Carlye said. "We have partnered with a local animal shelter and will be hosting 'Doggie and Me' mini sessions in June. The sessions will be donation-based, and all proceeds will benefit the animals within the shelter."
