25 Places That Are Perfect For a Midday Break at Disney World

A Disney World vacation is full of fun, excitement, and lots of magic! In addition to touring the parks and meeting your favorite characters, it's also important to pace yourself and give your kids a chance to rest, especially when the temperatures start to rise. Luckily, there are lots of places to take a break without having to head back to your hotel. We've rounded up the top spots to rest and cool off at each of the four Disney World theme parks, from rides and shows to stores and kid-friendly restaurants.

The Emporium

The Emporium is located on Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom. All of the separate shopping sections are connected, making this a great place to walk through and cool down on a hot afternoon.

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room

This classic attraction at Magic Kingdom is all inside and air-conditioned, making it the perfect place to rest and get off your feet for a while. If you're looking for the ultimate Tiki Room experience, grab a Dole Whip from Aloha Isle nearby and take it inside for a snack while you rest.

Tom Sawyer Island

You have to take a raft to get here, but Tom Sawyer Island hosts a whole lot of shade, as well as rocking chairs to sit in and watch the hustle and bustle of Magic Kingdom from across The Rivers of America. When you're done resting, get the raft back to Frontierland and continue exploring the park!

Hall of Presidents

No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, we can all agree that stopping inside the Hall of Presidents for a quick power nap is always a good idea! Since this show lasts about 20 minutes, it's the perfect place to get out of the sun at Magic Kingdom for a while.

Liberty Square Riverboat

If relaxing on the Rivers of America while sitting in some shade sounds like your idea of the perfect park break, then hop on the Liberty Square River Boat. This full circle tour around Tom Sawyer Island features incredible views of Magic Kingdom attractions and a breeze from off the water.

Mickey's Philharmagic

Mickey's Philharmagic is a 3D show inside Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. Rest and cool down while you sing along with some of your favorite classic Disney songs and see some of your favorite Disney characters!

Pinocchio Village Haus

Also in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, Pinocchio Village Haus is a quick service restaurant serving up flatbreads and pasta for an inexpensive meal. If you're looking for some extra fun while you're dining, head over to the room where you can overlook the It's A Small World attraction and wave at guests as they ride by.

The Peoplemover

Ride high above Tomorrowland on the Peoplemover and see Magic Kingdom from above. If you ask nicely, you can usually ride around a second time and not have to get off.

It's Tough to Be a Bug

It's Tough to Be a Bug is located inside the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The short 3D show offers air conditioning and a place to sit, making it a great place to cool down and rest for a few minutes. But be warned, some of the loud noises and bug-like effects might scare young children.

Satu'li Canteen

The newest dining location at Animal Kingdom is located inside Pandora: The World of Avatar. Satu'li Canteen is home to customizable protein bowls and hamburger pods, along with a lot of seating to rest and get out of the sun for a while.

One of the best shows at Disney World is Festival of the Lion King! Get off your feet and sing along with Simba and the gang to some of the most well-known Disney songs ever.

Rafiki's Planet Watch

Take a train ride from Harambe Village to Rafiki's Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom and get away from the crowds for a while. Rafiki's Planet Watch features a petting zoo, interactive exhibits, and Animal Kingdom's veterinary center, where guests can watch live procedures most days.

Finding Nemo — The Musical

Located directly across from the River's of Light stadium, Finding Nemo — The Musical is about 20 minutes long and is all inside with air conditioning! The show is full of original music and great actors, so be sure to stop here to get off your feet for a while.

The Seas With Nemo & Friends at Epcot hosts so many different activities, you could stay in there for a few hours and still not finish everything! Be sure to ride the feature attraction, the Seas With Nemo & Friends, and stop by Turtle Talk With Crush before you leave.

Much like the Seas, the Land has so much to do. There are two rides, including the one Epcot is most known for, Soarin' Over the World, and Living With the Land. Do both of these to get the most out of this rest spot.

Who doesn't love pizza? Via Napoli at Epcot has most of their ingredients imported right from Italy, making your dining experience the most authentic it can be. This is a great place for a meal and to get off your feet for a while.

If you're needing a quick power nap while your making your way around World Showcase at Epcot, you're going to want to stop at the American Adventure. This show is about 20 minutes long and has pretty comfortable chairs, which make it easy to take a nap inside the show.

While the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular isn't inside, it is fully covered with massive fans! If you're super hot at Hollywood Studios and need a quick place to get into some shade, head here for a great show and a bit of rest. Just be aware of the show's loud noises.

Located in Muppets Courtyard at Hollywood Studios, PizzeRizzo is a quick-service restaurant serving up some delicious pizza and salads. It's usually not very busy there, and with ample room to spread out, it's a great place to get out of the hustle and bustle of the park for a while.

Part museum, part character meet and greet, and part theater, Walt Disney Presents is the ultimate place at Hollywood Studios for some much needed rest. Chill out while looking at different exhibits from the Walt Disney Archives, meet Star-Lord and Baby Groot, and watch a film about Walt Disney.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

A show based on the classic Disney film, Voyage of the Little Mermaid allows guests to sit and cool off for about 15 minutes while enjoying live actors portray the story of Ariel and her under the sea friends. If you're at Hollywood Studios and the line for the new Slinky Dog Dash is too long, this is going to be the place to be.

If you love Star Wars, or are just tired of walking around, the Star Wars Launch Bay is all inside and has so much to do in a small space. There's a film, character meet and greets, and a gallery of props, with ample seating and places to rest out of the crowds.

Hollywood Studios has a show for every age group, including 2- to 5-year-old's with Disney Junior Live on Stage! You'll find all of your favorite Disney pals here, along with lots of seats for getting off your feet for a while.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage has been a Hollywood Studios fixture since the day the park opened. This open-air ampitheater has bench seating and tons of fans to cool guests off and let them rest for the duration of the 25-minute show.
