Santa's Newest Helpers Are These Tiny NICU Babies, and OMG, the Cute Hurts

Santa may have the help of his elves in the North Pole, but this year, it looks like his newest friends are even tinier (and, no offense, elves, but they're also way cuter). The bearded man in red recently paid a visit to Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital to sit with the babies and families at the NICU in the Gerber Foundation Neonatal Center, and the cuteness that ensued honestly hurts.

Santa, or as he's usually known, Al Jones, MD, is a retired neonatal medicine specialist and says that he sees the Santa visit as a way for families to "take a break from their worries and just enjoy the holiday season." Santa's helper, the March of Dimes family support program coordinator at the hospital, Amy Nyberg, added that the families love the visit each year. "Santa comes and they are able to hit that milestone and have that memory of baby's first photo taken with Santa."
