These Babies Were the First Ones Born in 2019, and What a Way to Ring in the New Year!

While some of us were celebrating with glasses of Champagne or snuggling on the couch waiting for the ball to drop with the TV blaring, nothing beats ringing in the new year by bringing new life into the world. Throughout the country, lucky moms and dads added new tiny members into their respective families, and frankly, the photos are beyond cute. Read through to get a look at the sweet little ones who entered the world either moments or a few hours after the clock struck midnight, and try not to smile from ear to ear in the process.

Little Adeline Brennan could hardly wait for the new year! According to Boston Medical Center's Facebook post, she was born at exactly midnight weighing in at 7 pounds, 1.6 ounces.

Ankita Kashikar and Mandar Bulakh welcomed a sweet son, Ayaansh Bulakh, into the world just 38 seconds after midnight. He was the first infant to be born in Franciscan Health and in Indianapolis, IN, in the new year.

The first baby of 2019 to be born in Emory University Hospital Midtown in Georgia took her first breath just one minute after the ball dropped. The new parents, Fatema and Afsar, welcomed a daughter Asiya, who is said to be "doing well."

Keani Diane Quitugua Matte was the first baby born in the Baby Area of California at 12:25 a.m. at North Bay Medical Center.

"It's a great sign considering she is healthy, and she is amazing," said Keani's mom, Elesha Matte, explaining that she had to wait 13 hours to give birth after being induced: "Oh my goodness, I still haven't had her yet," she thought herself. "But then my contractions started to pick up."

Keani is the last of 10 children for the Matte family.

Although little Danarious Ritchie was among the first infants to be born in 2019 in Virginia, he took a little longer to make his grand entrance. The little boy was born at 6:53 a.m. on Tuesday, one week past his originally due date.

"It just means more happiness, the more the merrier, actually this is our final child," his mom Alaina Ritchie told an ABC affiliate. "So we're really blessed to have three very healthy children."

Nexhmije "Mia" Balanca and her husband, Rinush, rung in the new year by having their first baby — a son named Dion Karpuzi — 30 seconds into the new year at Staten Island University Hospital.

Jennifer Robbins gave birth to fraternal twins — Ammon and Leland — at 12:25 a.m. and 12:27 a.m., respectively — at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, CA. The brothers were the first babies born in the area, and although the Robbins already have four other children, new dad Craig Robbins said this birth was "a whole new world, for sure."
