Senator John McCain issued a scary warning about President Donald Trump's feud with the media [1] during a recent interview with MSNBC. When Meet the Press host Chuck Todd asked McCain about Trump's tweet that calls several media outlets "the enemy" of the American people [2], McCain responded, "We need a free press. We must have it. It's vital."

McCain also added that democracy in America can only be sustained if we have a press that is not suppressed by the government. "If you want to preserve democracy as we know it, you have to have a free press. Without it, I'm afraid that we would lose so much of our individual liberties over time," he said.
