Why Tomorrow's Election Event With Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton Is a MAJOR Deal

Oct 26 2016 - 4:24pm

Michelle Obama [1] and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the International Women of Courage Awards in Washington DC in March 2012.

Two powerhouse women, one stage. On Thursday, Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton will campaign together for the first time this election at an event in Winston-Salem, NC.

While Clinton holds a major lead against Donald Trump [2] in many national polls, she must still win over voters in battleground places like North Carolina. The state went Democrat in 2008 but swung Republican in 2012, mostly because of low turnout among minority voters.

That's where the first lady steps in, thanks to her success over the past few months in tearing down Trump in speeches without even saying his name [3] and emphasizing why Clinton would make a great president [4].

"I think she has emerged as our not-so-secret weapon out on the trail. She has exceeded our expectations in terms of how many events she has been able to do and been willing to do," Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon told CNN [5]. "She has been an absolute rock star."

You can watch the full event as we stream it live from our Facebook page [6] tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. PDT.
