The Oldest Pearl Harbor Survivor Just Honored the Anniversary in the Most Beautiful Way

At 109-years-old, Ray Chavez is the oldest-known Pearl Harbor attack survivor. Chavez, who was serving in the US navy when the bombings took place 75 years ago, says he still remembers the tragic day. "There were so many innocent people that were lost," he told NBC News [1]. To honor those who died on Dec. 7, 1941, Chavez says he trained with a professional trainer for three years to be able to travel back to Hawaii and pay his respects.
