Republican Oklahoma State Senator Bryce Marlatt [3] has been accused of assaulting a female Uber driver on June 26. The Uber driver stated in a police report that Marlatt grabbed her "forcefully" and kissed her on the neck as she navigated to drop him off at a hotel in Oklahoma City.

In a redacted police report obtained by BuzzFeed [4], first published on July 5, the Uber driver states that after the alleged assault, she dropped Marlatt off at the hotel, then drove to a bar where she looked up information about him on the internet. She then contacted a police officer on June 28 to report the crime. The driver says she is pressing charges in the hopes that Uber releases more information to the police, since it won't give it to her personally. Local news station KFOR confirmed that the suspect is Marlatt [5] but that he hadn't been arrested — yet.

Marlatt's been with the Oklahoma state Senate since 2008 and represents District 27. Previously, Marlatt was taken into custody [7] in December 2014 for driving while drinking. Marlatt is married and has three children. An attorney for Marlatt told KFOR that the "senator is shocked and surprised by the allegations and has asked his legal counsel to work with Uber to get to the bottom of this."
