The results of the GOP Super Tuesday elections are in: Donald Trump won big, taking Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Vermont, and Virginia, according to The New York Times [1]. It's hardly a suprise, since Trump has been the GOP front runner [2], winning the past three state elections.
Ted Cruz was victorious, too — in Alaska, Oklahoma and Texas, where he's a junior senator. Marco Rubio won one state: Minnesota. Similar to previous state elections, John Kasich and Ben Carson trailed far behind, having won zero state elections and leaving many to wonder, "Will they ever drop out?"
In his victory speech, Trump echoed previous promises. "We're gonna create jobs, we're gonna create jobs like you're never seen," he said. "We're gonna lower taxes substantially for the lower class — the lower class in our country has been forgotten." He's also been tweeting thanks to every state siding with him.
Thank you Georgia!#SuperTuesday [3] #Trump2016 [4]

Super Tuesday is considered one of the biggest voting events of the year, with a dozen states deciding on who they want their party nominee to be. On the Republican side, 661 delegates will be allocated; on the Democratic side, 865 delegates. (You can find the Democratic winners here [6].) This Super Tuesday election took place in mostly Southern states, which is why it's been called the "SEC Primary" — a reference to the athletic Southeastern Conference.
You can see how much of the vote each state GOP winner took home ahead. The next Republican voting events to watch are in Kansas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Maine on Saturday, March 5. Trying to understand who the heck is voting for Trump in all these states? This should help [7].
