The idea that the federal government funds abortions with taxpayer money is one of the most tedious lies about Planned Parenthood [1] peddled by some members of the GOP. The 1997 Hyde Amendment prohibited federal funds from financing abortions — but Speaker Paul Ryan is insistent that funding Planned Parenthood equates to paying for abortions [2].

So, when Ryan tweeted a side-by-side comparison of the Affordable Care Act and the newly proposed American Health Care Act — implying that the latter prevents taxpayer money from funding abortions and the former does not — people were quick to correct the congressman. A staffer at Full Frontal With Samantha Bee made an exceptionally simple and hilarious correction to the graphic.

With the caption "Tweaked this for you," the graphic simply crosses out the language so that it reads "Taxpayers already don't pay for abortion." And there you have it: a clapback that probably took less than five minutes to create. Samantha Bee and her team are becoming experts in short but in no way sweet takedowns [6].
