Five-Ingredient Chicken Picatta

Easy Chicken Piccata Recipe


  1. 4 small or 2 large chicken breasts
  2. 4 tablespoons butter
  3. 3/4 cup dry white wine
  4. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  5. 2 tablespoons capers
  6. Chopped parsley, optional


  1. Slightly pound out the chicken breasts. Season liberally with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large sauté pan, heat 2 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. Once butter has melted, add chicken breasts, and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.
  3. Remove chicken from pan and transfer to a plate. Tent with foil.
  4. With the heat on medium, add in white wine, scraping up brown bits on the bottom of the pan. Simmer until reduced by half. Add lemon juice, and simmer another minute. Add remaining butter, and stir into sauce. Add chicken back into the sauce, and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Top with capers, and then garnish with parsley, if using.
