4 Editors Put the New Huda Beauty Foundation Stick to the Test, and It Was a Huge Hit

Generally speaking, there are two types of foundation people out there: full coverage and more natural. Huda Beauty mostly catered to the full-face crew with its one and only foundation product, the #FauxFilter Full Coverage Matte Foundation — that is, until now. After listening to feedback from her fans, Huda Kattan, the brand's founder, is finally releasing a brand-new lightweight version of her foundation called the #FauxFilter Skin Finish Foundation Stick, and four of our editors got to try them out, ahead of the launch on Oct. 21 at HudaBeauty.com and Sephora.com.
Much like the liquid formula, the new #FauxFilter Skin Finish Foundation Stick gives you flawless-looking skin — but the similarities stop there. The new formula comes in 39 shades (nine more than the liquid formula) and has a stick applicator with a diamond-shaped bullet. As for the finish, it promises 10 hours of smooth, sheer coverage that can be built up to your liking.

"The foundation does not disappoint. The coverage is top-notch and a little goes a long way. I have some hyperpigmentation on my skin and didn't even need concealer when using this — that never happens. You can adjust the coverage and blend it all out depending on your needs. This lives up to its namesake. The new Water Jelly Hydrating Primer (another new Huda Beauty product set to launch this month) helps hydrate and balance out the matte feeling of the foundation. If your skin leans drier, definitely prep your skin with hydrating ingredients and moisturizers before application. It stays put all day long and is even water-resistant (it lasted while I was in a hot tub — I even dunked my whole head in the water). It's a tall order, I know, but a girl can dream. When I applied the new Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Skin Finish Foundation Stick in the shade toasted coconut 240N, I immediately noticed how smooth it went onto my skin. My previous notion of stick foundations was that they can be drying and hard to blend, but that couldn't be farther from the truth about this one. I ended up blending in the first layer of foundation with a densely packed buffing brush and then adding a tad more to cover my chin area. The formula melted into my skin and felt soft — almost as if I wasn't wearing anything on it.
