Carpet and Pet Stains Versus Hardwood Floor

What Kind of Flooring Do You Have?

When I think of reasons to keep certain rooms off limits to pets, the flooring type makes a huge difference since carpet's a pet hair magnet that hangs on tightly (unless you have one of these awesome vacuums). Likewise, it's much trickier to get accident evidence out of carpet than it is from hard, solid surfaces. Since most bathrooms and kitchens have tile, stone, or linoleum, excluding those rooms, what kind of covering covers most of your floors at home?

We have all wood flooring (expect for my sister's bedroom). After having so many pets in nineteen years we just couldn't handle the carpets being gross. We also got all leather couches last year because they are a thousand times easier to clean (no hair!!).
