Back of Farewell, Shooka, and Nala: Gosselins' Dogs Go Back to Breeder! Added to the family less than a year ago, Jon Gosselin already came under fire for past remarks about the sextuplets treatment of their pups . . . and now they're reportedly returned to the breeder. First off, it's sad to lose (or give up) any pet, but even sadder that the kids are losing two furry family members along with so many other changes in their lives right now. I understand that dog ownership is hard work (boy, do I ever), but it seems that another solution could have been found — a caretaker for the pups perhaps, or a larger place in NY where the big dogs would be welcome? Oh well, here's hoping that the German Shepherds find a forever home soon enough. In fact, I use to watch it every week. Now, it's beyond cute, it's quite annoying. A pet is a long time commitment, and it becomes part of the family. I feel bad for the children, who I'm sure have grown to love the dogs. Pets 7 years @kitkatherine — wow, that is really really sad kitkatherine 7 years Wow. This is guy is just the epitome of ... well, a big butt. A lot of America is like this - one of my friends just posted on her facebook page that she is deciding whether or not to "keep or get rid of her puppy" (phrased like that) and I just wanted to rant. The poor dog is now 9 months old (she has had him since about 2 months) and she's already bored? It's sad how people are - pets are part of the family, not couches or something disposable. weffie 7 years I've been trying hard to completely ignore these two idiots in the hopes that they will go away, but this is going too far... I officially H8 the Gosselins! kiwitwist 7 years This upsets me... the only positive is that they are going back to the breeder not a shelter or rescue. They should never NEVER have gotten these dogs or any dog to begin with. girlie871 7 years awww... this makes me sad. at least they are going back to the breeder and i hope we can assume that means a good home. wackdoodle 7 years I think that its for the best that Jon stood up and thought of the welfare of the dogs and sent them back to the breeders to be properly care for. Unfortunately yet again he becomes the goat for taking responsibility and doing what is right for these lovely dogs. redwoodforest 7 years This is just another sad chapter in the soap opera of these ridiculous and selfish people. I feel sad for their children and the dogs. I think they probably got the dogs primarily to create content for an episode of their TV show, and they didn't put much thought into how having them would effect their lives or how giving them back would effect their children. CaterpillarGirl 7 years I hope they didnt ask for their money back These dogs are better off. runningesq 7 years A pet isn't an accessory - it's a living, breathing life time commitment. The family DID NOT do their research before deciding on on a breed.... this whole thing makes me SO ANGRY. I am glad they are going back to the breeder, though, where they will be cared for properly. If you have eight young children, two dogs probably aren't the best addition to your family. Idiots. mannylove 7 years STUPID STUPID! I could not believe the episode when they got these pups in the first place. I feel bad for the kids, but the dogs are probably better off in the long run to get away from that crazy family situation. I remember the show when they got them & the breeder said they would take them back, which is great. The dogs will be happy to settle back in at their original home. Smacks83 7 years I read in an article that the breeders are keeping them (not adopting them out). I'm kinda happy because you know there are some nuts out there who want to adopt "the Jon and Kate dogs". On a small side note: This is the sign of a good breeder, one who will always take back any dogs they sell for whatever reason no matter how old/young the dog is. haleymarie 7 years I'm sad for the kids since they probably love their puppies very much and this is a terrible punishment for something they didn't do. However, I think the dogs will be better off living their remaining years in a stable, loving home. I'm sure the breeders will be MUCH more careful in selecting who they allow to adopt this pair. The puppies will likely adjust very quickly and live a better life. Being walked by caretakers while the family constantly travels and then being accosted by 8 kids who don't know how to interact with dogs would not have been a nice life for them, even if the owners are rich. Although this decision was likely motivated by laziness and another way to insult his wife publicly by blaming her for this, getting rid of those dogs is probably the only responsible decision Jon has made all year. Chrstne 7 years I could never, never do this. I understand there are some circumstances in which you may need to get rid of your pet...like you developed a severe allergy or something. But honestly, if you didn't think you can take care of two dogs, then you shouldn't have gotten them. It's also ridiculous to think that one person could take one, and the other person could take the other dog. I think it's sad that they decided that all because of a divorce, the pets need to be sent away. My parents divorced, too. We had a cat and a dog, and my dad kept both of them...since my mom had to get an apt. ASAP, and it didn't allow pets. Yogaforlife 7 years This is sad. I'm bothered about the dogs being in such a rusted cage - can't they get tetanus? And was it safe to trasnport them in the same cage? Tech 7 years Heartbreaking! This picture is especially sad, they are like — what's going on?! Between the Patrick Swayze news, Jessica Simpson's dog getting taken by a coyote, and now this?! I'm a wreck! snarkypants 7 years but, it's not funny that the dogs are going back. i knew that they would not be able to care for them, and think they only bought them to make for an interesting episode. why would you ever get two dogs when you can barely afford to take care of your kids without help and when your marriage is on the rocks? stupid, selfish people. i hope the dogs find a better permanent home. snarkypants 7 years i predicted this when they first got the dogs and everybody called me mean. haha. cupcake_ 7 years ^I completely agree with Whiplash. For me, once a dog has come into my home it's like a part of the family..I personally couldn't just give him/her away. wren1 7 years WTF. Why couldn't Jon have gotten an apartment that takes dogs? There are dogs living in NYC. :mob: WhatTheFrockBlog 7 years This pisses me off SO much. Nobody should ever bring a dog into their family unless they are willing to take all the responsibility that comes with dog ownership.
