Back of Growing Up Samson: Yummy Chummies in His Tummy If lil Samson could speak, I know he'd be saying "numnumnumnumnum!" When our latest Sugar pal made a surprise office visit last week, I used the opportunity to get the onsite taste tester to try some new treats. The essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids from the wild fish in Yummy Chummies ($5) give pooches healthier hearts, coats, and skin. Samson wanted to dig right in and sat just like a good boy for these perfectly sized training treats! I'd say my one complaint would be they have a fishy scent, but the first ingredient on the label is Wild Alaskan Salmon after all! As a bonus, mom lilpeapod said he had no troubles with potty (if you know what I mean) later that day either . . . even with his sensitive tummy. I would beg to differ that Yummy Chummies is the answer as we see it - and as we close in on the basis for the death of one of our huskies, and hospitalization-level for two more - for what is likely now, Salmon poisoning -- we are very concerned that Yummy Chummies may not be properly precessed to prevent this fatal illness. We have the company's insistence that the foods are safe, however, inufficiently cooked Salmon easily can kill your dog. See: http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/cliented/salmon.aspx . Symptoms in our dogs and a full necropsy of our fallen lead girl, with Yummy Chummies being the sole newly added ingestion, reveal Salmon Poisoning to be the case. If you don't want thousands in Vet bills and a rapid, surprise and devastating loss of your family pet despite first aid (such as CPR as we did without luck), I would have the company assure you they fully cook their smoked or other types of Salmon products ("fresh", especially Salmon, should NEVER mean "undercooked" for a dog) -- to keep your canine family safe from rapid death in hours. runnergeek 9 years SAMSON! how cute is he? fuzzles 9 years Samson makes me want to buy Yummie Chummies, and I don't even have a dog! :) kristyrk 9 years lilren, we feed Samson Nature's Variety Raw food. He was raised on a raw diet, and after the disaster that became of us trying to switch him to dry food, we decided not to mess with what works! He also loves Zuke's chicken mini's. Those are great for training cause they are so small. But I think now we're going to stock up on Yummy Chummies as an extra treat!
