For some pet owners, a small bed somewhere in the house is enough for their dog or cat, but for those who want their pet to share their bed without actually being in it, there's a solution. Brazilian company Colchão Inteligente Postural [1] created a mattress with a nook in the side so your pet can share your bed.

My first thought was that anyone who loves their animal enough to drop what is probably a large amount of cash on something for him or her would be the type to just have their pet sleep in bed with them. (Hi, yes, that's me.) But CEO of Colchão Inteligente, Filipe Machado Guterson, told ABC News [2] that he came up with the "pet bed" idea in 2013 while working with a client who lived alone and said that her dog needed to sleep with her. The client didn't want the dog in the bed, though, because of health issues. Thus, the pet bed idea was born.

Currently, the beds are only sold in Brazil and Argentina, but keep your eyes peeled, because Guterson said he's hoping to expand to the US and the United Arab Emirates this year.
