Oh no! Read this problem submitted by PetSugar reader TiVo in the PetSugar Q + A group and see if you can offer any tips for her:

My cats use a litter box, but they step in poo while exiting. Gross! I can't discipline them for using the box, so what can I do?

A self cleaning pan would be a good investment. The cat drops a deuce, and a minute or so later, a rake electronically cleans the pan. I believe they run about $100, and can be found at any major pet store.

Ugh, that's the worst! Have you tried placing a rug or mat next to the litter box to trap at least some of what's on their paws? There are also litter boxes with a carpeted ramp leading up to the box opening, which would force your kitties to do a little paw-wiping on their way out.
