Pictures of President Obama's Dog at the Congressional Picnic
Do You Hold the Leash Like the President of the United States?

It's hard to get a grip on walk time, especially with high-energy pups . . . even for the president of the United States! On their way to the Congressional Picnic yesterday (which seems to excite Bo quite a bit), Obama had to use both hands to hold him back.Even though the leash has a loop, we see his grip wrap around the leash, not through the hole. After choosing your leash grip style, see more pictures of Bo following the leader — or should I say the leader following Bo? — in the gallery below.

The Gentle Walkers are great for the short nose pups. Our dogs don't have the snouts for Gentle Leaders.

Yeah, Obama just got owned by his dog. :hehe: Poor guy. I second the Gentle Leader. I'm training my dog to walk politely with me, and the Gentle Leader is helping SO much!

the best way to hold the leash is with your dog at your side, have one hand through the loop holding the top of the leash, and the other hand holding the mid point of the leash then you have control of the slack and where the dog is.

It looks like he could really use a gentle leader harness and a shorter leash, like a 4 foot. He would have alot more control and less pulling. im surprised he hasn't had him trained.
